Mikos Bros LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the ezGrubmobile application (the "App") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download, register with, or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information from and about users of our App directly from you when you provide it to us and automatically when you use the App.
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: If you choose to create an account or link an email address to your profile, we collect your email address.
- Health and Physical Data: To calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and daily nutritional targets, we collect metrics such as your age, gender, weight, and height.
- User-Generated Content: To provide our core calorie and macro tracking services, we collect the text, audio recordings (voice dictation), and photographs (plate snaps) you submit to the App.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: We collect information about your mobile device, including the device model, operating system, unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFA, IDFV), and mobile network information.
- Usage Data (Analytics): We collect details of your interactions with the App, such as app launches, feature usage, session duration, and subscription purchase events.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us to:
- Provide Core Functionality: We process your text, audio, and photo inputs using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to identify food items and calculate nutritional values.
- Personalize Your Experience: We use your physical metrics to generate customized macro and calorie targets based on established metabolic formulas.
- Account Maintenance: We use your generated User ID (UUID) and email address to save your food logs, maintain your streaks, and sync your data across devices.
- Analytics and Attribution: We use device identifiers and usage data to understand how users interact with the App, measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, and calculate return on ad spend (ROAS).
- Customer Support: To resolve technical issues and respond to your inquiries.
4. AI Processing and Your Consent
ezGrub's core features are powered by third-party artificial intelligence (AI) services. We only send your data to these services after you give explicit permissionin the App the first time you use an AI feature. If you tap "Don't allow," nothing is sent and the AI features remain unavailable.
A. What data is sent
- Meal text: the text (or dictated transcript) describing what you ate, and your app language setting.
- Voice recordings: the audio you record when you dictate a meal, for transcription into text.
- Meal photos: the photo you take or select, and the optional note you add to it.
- Personal AI plan (if you use it): your age, gender, height, weight, goal, activity level, dietary preferences, health conditions, and food likes/dislikes, so the plan can be tailored to you.
We do not send your name, email address, or device identifiers to AI providers.
B. Who receives it
Your data is sent from our server to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), an API gateway, which routes each request to the underlying model provider:
- Google (Gemini models): analysis of meal text and photos, and generation of the AI plan.
- OpenAI: transcription of voice recordings into text.
These providers process your data only to return the result to you. Their handling of the data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies (OpenRouter, Google, OpenAI). We require that any provider we use gives your data the same or equal level of protection as described in this policy. Because these services may keep API data for a limited time under their own policies, please do not include personally identifiable information in your dictations, notes, or photos.
C. How we use and store it
- Voice recordings and photos are used only to produce your result and are not stored on our servers after processing.
- The resulting meal text, ingredients, and nutrition values are saved to your account so you can see your food diary.
- We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Withdrawing consent
You may decline AI processing at any time, or ask us to delete your account and data (see Section 6). To withdraw a previously given permission, contact us at kos@mikosbros.com or delete your account in the App's settings.
5. Data Security
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through our App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the App's services.
Your Right to Delete
In compliance with Apple App Store guidelines and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and associated data. You can initiate an automated data deletion request directly within the App's settings menu at any time. Alternatively, you may contact us using the information below to request data deletion.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
8. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you through an in-app alert or via email (if provided). The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
